1562 Palos Verdes Mall Walnut Creek, CA 94597 On a sunny Saturday, I had lunch at Kung Fu Restaurant in Walnut Creek, CA. I saw the great reviews, and decided it would be worth a try. First thing I noticed when I walked in the place was it's really small. So I'm guessing most of these Yelp reviews are for takeout orders. There's only 3 medium tables (w/ 4 seats) and 1 small table (w/ 2 seats), and 1 small table outside. I pointed at the small table and asked the man at the counter if I could sit there. He said YES, and asked what I would like to order. Without looking at the menu, I just ordered my favorites..... - Wor Won Ton Soup - Potstickers (8) - Hot Tea (I asked for chopsticks) Service was very quick. The man behind the counter was also the server. Wor Won Ton Soup, Grade (4/5): This is combination won ton soup. It has a little bit of everything. My soup had 8 dumplings, lots of veggies, 2 shrimp, and some pieces of chicken. Not alot extras. But the broth was mild, and very good. Potstickers, Grade (3/5): They looked and tasted like the frozen kind. They should be plump. These had limited filling, and not alot of flavor. But the presentation of the plate was nice. Service & Value, Grade (5/5): Fast service and reasonable prices. Free parking in mall lot. Limited seating, so be prepared to do takeout.

Stopped for lunch and had Mongolian beef, really delicious. My wife had the Kong Pow chicken, and it was also pretty good, and a generous portion. I will eat here again.

Great family-owned restaurant. Service was welcoming and prompt, and the food hit the spot for comfort cravings! I recommend!

Huge portions, great food, not too salty... excellent selection, some items you don't see on a lot of menus, and delivered within 40min, hot on arrival!!

I hadn't been here in a year. The beef chow fun was good and the Chinese broccoli with garlic was plentiful and tasty. I did take out but I saw that the same friendly owner was still running things with her husband chef. It was very good and now on my list for Chinese take out. Thanks Kung Fu kitchen

WOW. This hole in the wall is a gem! I ordered takeout and went overboard as we had a larger group, and everyone had their "favorite" dish. We had the opportunity to sample several different things from each menu section. Although everything was excellent - the true standouts in our group were: Fried Wonton, a dish that used to be a staple in all Chinese restaurants but is a rare find now. These plump purses, bursting with minced meats and spices, are deep-fried to perfection and served with a delectable sweet and sour chili sauce. POT STICKERS!! I know. You are probably thinking, "Really??" Trust me. These are amazing. I am not a fan of potstickers because the dough is thick, gummy, and chewy. When I tried one, OMG, these are the real deal. The thin but substantial dough holds a delightful mix of veggies and minced meats, all seasoned to perfection. A light soy-wine sauce for dipping is served alongside. Toasted golden brown on the bottom, steamed to tender perfection. Salt and Pepper Calamari - not rings! Thick, succulent slices of calamari lightly battered and fried to a golden crisp, seasoned with mixed fresh hot peppers and black pepper with salt. YUMMY!! Butter-fried steak: Tender slices of beef sautéed perfectly, served with asparagus. There is really nothing more to say about this dish - it is simple, delicious, and deeply satisfying for any steak lover. I do not know how they do it, but the meat is seasoned perfectly. The beefy flavor really shines through. The asparagus is tender and crunchy. The two textures work together to make this dish shine.

We were kind of in the area with our beast and I thought about calling some friends who live in Concord to introduce her to them. We hadn't seen them in a couple of months. Fortunately, they were home and hosting their grand-daughter and invited us up for a visit. We had just been to Kung Fu a couple of weeks ago and decided to re-try a couple of the dishes and add two new ones. We called while on the way to the restaurant, so we figured that we wouldn't have to wait as long once we arrived. We were told 20 minutes and arrived in 10. And then waited another 20 minutes. Sometimes you have to pay the piper to hear your favorite songs. One of the four tables inside was in use but there were several other people also waiting for take-out orders. I think that everyone was a regular because they all appeared to be quite happy to wait, as were we. Combo Appetizers - 4 - To ensure that everyone got to taste everything, we got two orders. What would make this dish a 5 for me? Charge a little bit more and make the egg rolls and chicken wings larger. Combination Egg Fu Yung - 5 - Just as fluffy and delicious as last time. I could probably eat this every other day for lunch with a bowl of rice and never get tired of it. Chicken Chow Mein - 4 - As I expected. A pedestrian dish but worth ordering when you don't know what a finicky eater will eat. A simple dish but with some hot Chinese mustard added, delicious! Sweet & Sour Pork - 5 - I loved it. She thought it was okay. I enjoyed the ratio of meat to fat, the lightness of the batter and that the sauce was not overly sugary nor vinegar tangy. Honey Walnut Beef - 5 - Yes, you read correctly. BEEF! Probably marinated to tender, very lightly battered and fried and then introduced to the sweet mayo sauce. Authentic Chinese food? Mostly but definitely modified for American tastes. The important question is, "is it good"? Absolutely! The only caveat is that if you're in a rush, this is probably not the place to go. But if you can get your order in early and are willing to wait a few extra minutes, by all means, give Kung Fu a try! Our server gave us forks and napkins for five and made sure that we had all of the sauces that we would need. I think that she recognized us from our two other visits. And yes, we tip for take-out, maybe not as much, but enough to be noticed. Unfortunately, we were so busy with the dog and the grand-daughter, taking pictures of the food completely slipped my mind.

My husband and I love this place. The food is always consistent and the portions are generous. The pictures speak for themselves and I highly recommend. Thank you so much!

Just a quick shoutout to Kung Fu Kitchen in Palos Verdes Shopping Center in Walnut Creek (Lunardi's). It's on my way home from work, and they have tasty food and friendly service. They're primarily to-go, but they have a few dining tables inside. They have a pretty large menu of lunch specials for such a tiny place; the most expensive item is the honey walnut prawns at $12.95, and most items are $10.95 or $11.95. They're on DoorDash.

I live Kung du chicken's food and the people who run the place. Lunch time special are a steal under $11 for walnut prawns. Always busy for take outs as inside has only got a few tables. There are also some on the little patio. Parking is super practical. EV chargers for free right across from it. Today we had shared noodles, orange chicken and sesame beef. Y U M.
